GNM Nursing
The General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) training course is of 3 years duration with English as the medium of instruction. Apart from theoretical training in classrooms, the practical hospital training would be of paramount importance. The course shall also include field training in community nursing and midwifery. The General Nursing & Midwifery programme aims at preparing nursing professionals.
Eligibility
Pass in 10+2 or equivalent examination with any subjects.
Foreign nationals: (including Nepali, Bangladeshi, Bhutani, and Tibetan refugee) for admission to Diploma Nursing (GNM) program candidates should have qualified 12th standard obtained by association of Indian University / Institution / Council or equivalent.
What after GNM?
One can work at Hospitals, Private clinics, Schools, and Rehabilitation centres as Home Care Nurse, Infection control Nurse , ICU nurse and OT nurse. One can also study further for Post Basic Nursing (which would make it equivalent to B.Sc. Nursing) after which they can even work in Educational Institutions besides Hospitals.
